A native of Jharkhand, I was brought up in the small but uniquely cosmopolitan city of Ranchi. From an early age I was sucked into social activism that was sweeping that part of Bihar those days. This enabled me to travel extensively throughout the length and breadth of, what is now, Jharkhand, and to observe first hand the social and economic problems of rural areas, in particular.

 

 On having landed a job with the Central Government at Delhi, I relocated to Delhi. More than three decades of association with key departments of the government gave me the ringside view of its working, and also opportunity to study the social and economic environment in various parts of the country during my frequent travels. 

 

Having had the twin benefits of first hand experience of socio-political activism and of working with various departments of the government, I, through this Blog, wish to share my thoughts on social, and occasionally political and religious issues. I hope my Blog would serve as a platform for enlightened and civilised exchange of thoughts on these issues.
